Last

                                     
 


For the last lesson, there is a presentation of what we are doing for our proposal. 
It was a very sudden presentation as Marianne said there is a selective group to present the proposal on the stage. So she bring another teacher to listen each group presentation.
Our group came up with the final proposal in A2 size.



After presenting, I find that the way i present to the teacher did not really turn out well.
It was because i was not fully prepared and rougly said what we have done for our proposal.
Hope we able to be select to present so we can gain two credit ! :DD

We almost forgot with the sketchbook which need to be submit on the assessment week.
So we decided to do the sketchbook on the tutorial week.
However, Jonas say he will be doing the sketching.
I found that there are few sketches that i have drew on papers. 
Hope the last mintude of sketches on sketchbook will not affect our grade.

From this module, thanks groupmates for doing this proposal and hope our effort will be seen.

Editing pagebreak and put Act it out process



For the last few weeks before submission, we were told to edit the slides as well as edit pagebreak.
However we realised we forgot to put the process of act it out inside the proposal.
So, me and Jesslyn put the process and the things we used to act it out.
Hence, the list of figures and pages going to be messed up again.
It was so troublesome!
However we managed to complete the post together.
Our group have also film the act it out , posted to youtube.


Chapter 3 ( Sketches )

Sketching of our case studies.
I have sketch my case studies in one A4 size paper.
On that day, we were told to present our sketches and case studies on slides.
After presenting, teachers want us to be more focus on our drawing that we drew.
The drawing that we done is not properly done. 
Sketching anyhow and the proportion is wrong.
I realise that sketching is not anyhow sketch. It's actually is sketch in a style using free hand, proportion also need to be correct too.
So we went back home to mend it back .
This is the final i sketch.


Chapter 2 case studies

                   

For this lesson, we were told to do case studies related to our topic.
Three case studies need to be done as my group have three person.

What is case studies ? 
a process or record of research into the development of a particular person, group, or situation over a period of time.


We went to Jonas house to do the case studies and sketches of our proposal to further understanding our topic.




I have found one case study related to country at Sweden.
Truthful speaking, i do not know there are such a services from other country.
Sweden have a large aging population. However, government provide services by offering ready-cooked meals that can be home delivered, provide indoor activities such as painting and reading corner for them. It was such a good sevices from Sweden.
Perhaps we should learn from them.




My group have done each of their case studies too.
This is end of chapter 2. 


Editing proposal and list of figures




After finishing the proposal of chapter two , i have edit slides and the list of figures.
It took me 15 mins of how to edit the list of figures. 
It was troublesome to edit slides and the list of figures as every single pictures is taken need to type under the list of figures.
I also try to replace those online pictures to the pictures that i have.

From this, i have more confident in handing proposal on my ownself.


Chapter 2 interview ( Site Investigation )

After interview the three elderly, me and jesslyn had went to do another interview for three elderly for site investigation. 
I need to do site investigation for this proposal however, i have mistaken it.
I mistaken site investigation as another interview from three more elderly.
So, i do my part wrong again.
This is the elderly that is being interviewed.



I redo it after listen what my leader had said.
I went to different places to take a look if it is a popular places for elderly.
What i found out is that most of the shopping mall and attraction places is not popular to elderly.
Mostly is from what other peoples thought which is 
park ; childcare center etc.









After doing it, i have a better understanding of what need to be expect site invstigation and have a clear mind of what to do for my proposal to make it better .

Chapter 2 proposal ( Interview)

So, i approached my leader of letting me to do Chapter 2.

Chapter 2 is all about elderly opinion of the "lack of social places in residential area" 
Firstly, Jonas assigned each of us to do one research.
On that day, he did surveymonkey, me and Jesslyn did the three interview for elderly's opinion.
Truefully, the moment he asked us to interview, i was afraid and do not dare to approached elderly in public spaces. It was because, they might overthink as a liars etc.
However, I DID IT !
I have interview two elderly who live from my blk and my friend blk.
Both places are at woodlands too.
One of the elderly is work from NAFA too. 

Those are the questions that were compulsory to ask for them to answer.
What you usully do during free time ? 
Why are you working here ? 
Is there any places for you to hang out with ?

Most of them said stay home watch television. They think that there is no outdoor activities for them to hang out with. All they do is to make themselves busy like taking care grandchild. 

After interview, i realise i have diffculties in pronouncy clearly. Morever, i scare to talk to elderly and they thought we were bad guys. People judge.




First making of the proposal

On the very first day in school, i do not know what proposal really are and what are we going to do for our final project. So i was struggle in the past two weeks of the design process lesson.
We were told to find groupmates and form them together. 
So, my groupsmates are Jonas and Jesslyn. The '3Js' group ! 
Due to me, could not speed up the work with my group leader Jonas, most of the start of chapter 1 , I did not fully put in much effort in doing. I was confused and lost for these two weeks.  Me and Jesslyn were told to research about the elderly which assigned by our leader , Jonas. We finished researching and email to him without editing. My apologised of not summaries the thing i research as i really do not know he wanted us to summaries the editing. However, we reached half and hour late to meet him. He already start doing the list of figures,etc while waiting for us. At first, i do not know what is he doing . After knowing that he actually did the cover page, preface, etc all by himself, i feel shock and wonder why he did not assigned me and Jesslyn to do the cover pages, list of figures too.  Too late to play my part to do that, i decided to do most of the chapter 2 by myself. I feel sorry of not doing my part to help up with the chapter 1. 

Research primary sources

We went to National Library to find primary sources like books ; newspaper to do bibliographly  as well as research more about the cases related to elderly. Library is huge and it took us about one hour to find resources. Most of the resources were found on newspaper. We also even discussed if this can be written in bibligraphly and also thinking if it is related to our topic. 







We even find resources from Chinese newspaper


To be honest, i personally dislike finding resources from library. I usually find resources on internet as it it convenience. However, finding reosources from library are usually more support the right question and the detail they give is 100% correct. Do not have to worry the story is true or not true. 


We also went to Jonas house to do the mind-map research which need to present next lesson. We have shown this by drawing picture than using words.









Reflection on Act it out




The filming process took half an hour to complete as we did not really act it out for the first few times. It was quite hard to act it while seeing your groupmate acting in a weird position. After filming the process of elderly having diffculty walking in a limp, it broke my heart in a few seconds. For example seeing a real elderly have diffculty in walking, yet you could not help him/her. The feeling was miserable and guilty too. It taught me to be more understable for the elderly who have diffculties as well as lending them our helping hands.
